2-year Anthroposophic Psychotherapy Certificate Program

A Graduate Program in Anthroposophic Psychology

STARTING 2026 DATES TBD

How can an anthroposophic understanding of the human being enrich and transform the practice of psychotherapy?

The Association for Anthroposophic Psychology is now offering a certification program in Anthroposophic Psychotherapy. The program is designed for licensed clinicians who graduated from AAP's 3-Year Foundation studies or who are currently enrolled in AAP's Foundation program or a similar IFAPA-approved program.  One of our goals is to build a community of clinicians working out of anthroposophic psychology.  Together, we can discover how to apply an anthroposophic understanding of the human being in the psychotherapeutic encounter.

We will explore the phenomenology of human experience including psychological disturbances: mood disorders, psychosis, addictions, trauma, spiritual crisis, developmental issues and more. We will enhance our ability to assess and diagnose according to anthroposophic principles. Therapeutic indications and insights will be shared. We will deepen our understanding of psychotherapy in the age of the consciousness
soul and how therapy adapts to the psychological and spiritual development of the client.

We will collaboratively explore the spiritual dimension of client and therapist by considering questions such as: How can we help our clients better connect with the various levels of their “I”? How can we as therapists maintain awareness of past, present and future while also recognizing the client’s biographical experience within the timespan of their current life? How can we ethically explore questions of moon and sun karma? How can we support our clients in their intra-, inter- and transpersonal relationships? How do attachment, intersubjectivity and subpersonalities inform our work? How can we develop therapeutic intuition regarding the most helpful interventions for a particular client at a particular moment in time?

Through training in anthroposophic psychotherapy, we strive to develop our identity and confidence as anthroposophic psychotherapists as we bring this new impulse into the world. We aim to contribute to a growing body of knowledge and lived experience regarding anthroposophic psychotherapy and to join an international movement of professionals. Our program seeks to work directly with relationality as a means of spiritual endeavor. Collaboration is central.
